Vitebsk Oblast to send delegation to Innoprom expo in Yekaterinburg

07.07.2023  A dozen enterprises and organizations of Vitebsk Oblast will take part in the International Industrial Fair Innoprom that will be held in Russia's Yekaterinburg from 10 to 13 July, BelTA learned from the Economy Committee of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee.

“Thirteen enterprises and organizations of our region will participate in the 13th edition of the International Industrial Fair Innoprom in Yekaterinburg. They include educational institutions, for example, Polotsk State University,” the Economy Committee informed.

Polotsk-Steklovolokno will showcase its products at the joint stand of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim. The company plans to conclude an additional agreement to the effective contract with a Russian partner to increase product supplies. The company also intends to sign two additional protocols with two Russian companies on supplying fiberglass products.

Other enterprises of Vitebsk Oblast are working to bring to the expo the companies that show interest in their products.

Among the documents to be signed at the Innoprom expo is an agreement on international and foreign economic relations in industry between the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Chechen Republic and the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee. The document is to be endorsed on the main stage of the national pavilion on 11 July. The Vitebsk Oblast delegation will be represented by Chair of the Economy Committee Veronika Zaboluyeva and Director General of the Vitebskprom State Association Yegor Dzhandarov.

Vitebsk Oblast is interested in launching and increasing the supply of industrial products and consumer goods, the economy committee noted. The increase in export will help make up for the loss of revenues on the markets of the EU countries, the USA and Canada. The enterprises of the region are planning to build contacts with Russian economic entities. The more high value-added products are sold, the higher the profitability of export is.

Import substitution and optimization are also high on the agenda. This pertains to goods that are not produced in the country or are produced in insufficient quantities. “Cooperation in import substitution with Russian businesses will make it possible to make up for the decline in imports and start jointly producing the necessary goods,” the Economy Committee stressed.

Some 76 enterprises of Vitebsk Oblast are working to substitute 181 import items; 44 of these companies are small and medium-sized enterprises that were tasked to substitute 85 import items.
