Pskov hosting Days of Vitebsk Oblast
The Days of Vitebsk Oblast will be held in Pskov on 28-31 August, BelTA learned from the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee.Leading enterprises and organizations of Vitebsk Oblast will present their developments and samples of import-substituting products. Potential and existing partners from Pskov Oblast will be familiarized with investment proposals. Negotiations on the development of mutually beneficial cooperation are planned.Agreements and contracts are to be signed during the Days of Vitebsk Oblast. On 29 August, Belwest intends to sign a contract to supply footwear worth RUB50 million with Belwest Retail Moscow. The parties intend to ink the document at the exhibition of the industrial potential of Belarus' northern region. Around 20 enterprises will demonstrate their best products and solutions at the indoor exhibition. Among them are Vitebskdrev, Polotsk-Steklovolokno, Belwest, Vitebskoblgaz, FEZ Vitebsk, Orsha Linen Mill, Vitebsk Carpets, Vityaz, Naftan.An exhibition of large-sized machinery of MTZ, MAZ, Amkodor, Pozhsnab and Vitstroitekhmash is located at the car parking of the Finnish Park. Visitors will be able to taste products by 14 enterprises of Vitebsk Oblast at a venue inside the park.The Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee plans to sign a protocol approving the action plan for 2024-2026 to the agreement of 17 September 2015 on cooperation in economy, science, technology, culture and humanitarian sphere with the Pskov Oblast government. The action plan will be signed, too.The program includes a lot of events in culture, sports, tourism, education, healthcare, social protection, and youth. A number of sections, round tables, dialog platforms, methodological workshops, master classes, and other events will take place.The visitors will get acquainted with the region's historical and cultural development: the Vitebsk tram, the story of Feodor Makhnov, the tallest man in the world (according to unconfirmed data), who was born here, the atmosphere of the city of artists, and Sideika bench. Special posters will tell the visitors about the history of the oldest Belarusian cities – Polotsk and Vitebsk. A thematic exposition of Vitebsk heritage will also be presented in Pskov. It will highlight traditional handicrafts included in the State List of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Belarus.The opening ceremony of the Days of Vitebsk Oblast is scheduled for 29 August.
