June 26 – the Prosecutor's Office of Belarus turns 101 years old
Prosecutor's office employees of the Vitebsk region took part in a solemn ceremony dedicated to the Day of Prosecutor's Office Employees of the Republic of Belarus, which took place at the foot of the "Kurgan of Glory" memorial complex. For Belarusians, this place is a symbol of independence and free life. A reminder of the price at which their people were able to preserve it. This is especially important when attempts are made to rewrite and distort history, to erase the feat of the fallen.
Having crossed the century-long milestone, prosecutors continue to faithfully stand guard over the legality and rule of law of their country and solve the tasks set before them. At the beginning of the ceremony, the participants laid flowers at the foot of the "Kurgan of Glory" monument and observed a minute of silence in memory of those who died at the hands of the fascists. The State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus, Volfovich A.G., delivered a congratulatory address on behalf of the President of the Republic of Belarus. In his speech, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Belarus, Shved A.I., emphasized that the main value of the Belarusian people is peace, which has been hard-won throughout their centuries-long history. It is peace that is the main condition for the creation and development of our state.
He stressed that adherence to discipline, prompt response to changing circumstances, and timely decision-making in the interests of the cause are the key to the successful completion of assigned tasks. He expressed confidence that prosecutors will continue to be a reliable support for our statehood.
Then, the head of the country's supervisory authority presented medals, prosecutor's badges of distinction, and other awards to individual prosecutor's office employees.
Veterans of the prosecutor's office delivered parting words to the younger generation of prosecutor's office employees and congratulations.
The event concluded with a commemorative photo session.
