Alexander Subbotin met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic

Александр Субботин встретился с Чрезвычайным и Полномочным послом Кыргызской Республики
The development of ties in various spheres was discussed at a meeting between the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Belarus Erbol Sultanbaev.

As a guest, Erbol Sultanbaev has visited Vitebsk many times during cultural and other events, but this visit is his first official one. As Alexander Subbotin noted, a business meeting with the head of the diplomatic mission of the Central Asian state will strengthen friendly ties and give an impetus to the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Our countries have many points of contact. Belarus and Kyrgyzstan are located at the crossroads of important transport and logistics routes in their regions and are members of associations such as the CIS, EAEU, CSTO, and SCO.

– Relations between the Vitebsk region and the Kyrgyz Republic are developing dynamically and successfully in the economic and social spheres. The trade turnover for the current half-year is equal to the annual turnover in 2025, – emphasized the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Anzhelika Nikitina. – Our enterprises export cable, dairy products, carpet and tufted floor coverings, trade equipment, medicines, plastic products, and other goods. The Kyrgyz Republic supplies us with vegetables, fruits, and components for mechanical engineering.

The focus during the meeting was on the huge potential of the Vitebsk region and Kyrgyzstan for expanding business ties, not only in industry but also in culture, medicine, education, and tourism. One of the promising areas is participation in the construction of a railway connecting China, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Uzbekistan. Today, more than 20 enterprises in the region are ready to supply products (cable, metal structures, electronics, building materials) and provide construction services for this large-scale project. There are also prospects for using the capabilities of our logistics terminals Bremіno – Orsha and the under-construction Beltamozhservice for promoting goods.

The discussion also covered cooperation ties and the establishment of sister-city relations between one of the regions of Vitebsk Oblast and an oblast or city in Kyrgyzstan.

– Kyrgyzstan pays great attention to the development of interregional contacts, and for this purpose, we are visiting different regions of Belarus. We are connected with Vitebsk Oblast by a heroic past. Here, in Beshenkovichi District, in a mass grave, lies our compatriot – Hero of the Soviet Union Dzhumash Asanaliev. He died during the liberation of Vitebsk Oblast from the Nazi invaders. This year, we planted a Square of Winners near the military burial site, – explained Erbol Sultanbaev.

The head of the diplomatic mission emphasized the expansion of trade and economic ties. The visit program included meetings with the leadership of the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and visits to the "Vitba" confectionery factory and the "Energokomplekt" production association.

– We want to hear the requests of regional business representatives in order to find potential partners in Bishkek in the future, – noted Erbol Sultanbaev.
