The safety of people is a priority and a guide in the joint work of departments

An open meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was held at the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in a video conference format with the participation of the regional prosecutor's office.

The meeting discussed in detail the measures being taken to eliminate conditions that affect people's safety at facilities with mass and (or) round-the-clock presence of people. Attention was focused on the effectiveness of the work of prevention entities in preventing deaths from external causes, including fires. The issues discussed are currently, on the eve of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the most relevant and require increased attention not only from the emergency services but also from all interested state bodies, organizations, and services.

In turn, the regional prosecutor's office analyzed the state of legality of decisions made on applications and reports of fires in the region, noted a number of shortcomings in this area, and proposed solutions for the future.
