The prosecutor's offices of the Vitebsk region have studied the enforcement of legislation on ensuring child safety, including in children's health resorts, on preventing juvenile delinquency, as well as on preventing child deaths and injuries.
For reference. In the Vitebsk region, 13 children died from external causes during the past period of 2024 (compared to 8 in the same period of 2023), including 4 from murder (0), 5 from suicide (1), 2 from poisoning (0), 1 from aspiration (0), 1 from traffic accidents (1). The number of traffic accidents involving minors increased (from 28 to 33, or by +17.9%), including 1 fatal accident. The number of traffic accidents due to hitting an animal increased from 1 to 6.
Prosecutors have studied the readiness of health resorts, including school-based ones, for organizing children's recreation, and have also conducted spot checks.
In a number of them, facts of improper organization of meals for minors and non-compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements were established. In particular, there were instances of reduced portions of ready-made meals, non-compliance with the washing regime for tableware, which led to the growth of coliform bacteria, improper storage of food products, which led to their spoilage, and faulty trade and technological equipment in the food preparation area.
In addition, in one of the children's sports camps, a minor received a serious injury as a result of unsecured football goals falling on him.
The inspection found that officials of the sports camp did not take sufficient measures to ensure the safety of minors during physical education and sports classes, the workload on the coach-teacher exceeded the established norms, making it objectively impossible to ensure proper supervision of all children.

Как итог − прокурорами городов и районов на местах приняты меры реагирования, прокуратура Витебской области направила соответствующую информацию в Витебский областной исполнительный комитет.
Устранение выявленных нарушений взято на контроль.
