The Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, in accordance with the task of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Belarus, is conducting a prosecutorial inspection of compliance in military units and internal troops units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, stationed in the Vitebsk region, with the requirements of the legislation on the prevention of death, suicide, and injuries of military personnel and non-statutory relations between them.

During the inspection, prosecutorial staff of the department for supervision of legislation enforcement in troops of the regional prosecutor's office visited military units and internal troops units in the cities of Vitebsk, Orsha, Polotsk, and Novopolotsk.

Based on the results of the inspection, response measures were taken - a representation was made to eliminate violations of legislation on the prevention of death and injuries of military personnel in a separate battalion located in Orsha.

At an expanded meeting of the unit command with the involvement of unit commanders, the prosecutorial supervision document was reviewed with the participation of the Deputy Head of the Department for Supervision of Legislation Enforcement in Troops of the Regional Prosecutor's Office, Counselor of Justice Yu.L. Smolyanok.

 At the same time, measures were developed to eliminate violations of legislation, prevent them in further activities, and appropriate disciplinary and material liability measures were taken against officials responsible for their commission.

In general, it should be noted that the unit command, together with prosecutorial staff, is taking appropriate measures for the prevention of death, suicide, and injuries of military personnel and non-statutory relations between them. The main emphasis is placed on preventive and warning work.

Thus, on October 25 and 26, 2018, representatives of the regional prosecutor's office addressed various categories of military personnel of a military unit, explaining the responsibility for violations related to the commission of military crimes of a violent nature, and clarified the requirements for preventing injuries.
