More than 350 people took part in the regional sports festival for working youth in Vitebsk
The regional sports festival for working youth was held in the northern capital. More than 350 people from 21 teams from cities and districts of the Vitebsk region took part in the event, which was held at the Central Sports Complex.
– It's good that young people are actively participating in sports competitions on a large scale, as they are our driving force, – emphasized Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, in a comment to "VV". – It's great that young people from all over the region gathered at such a wonderful and significant stadium for the region to compete and communicate. Such events unite young people. Those who engage in sports also perform well at work. Physical culture and mass sports are the foundation for high-performance sports. It's good that young people who have started their professional careers do not abandon their sports hobbies.
The participants of the sports festival competed in six disciplines: darts, bicycle handling, team long jump, tug-of-war, mini-football, and track and field relay.
– We are very happy to participate in this event, – noted Dina Malysheva, director of the "Start" sports and fitness club of the Rossony district. – We hope that this will unite our youth, the guys will communicate and perform at a high level. The core of our team consists of young people who participated in the regional sports festival for rural residents "Rural Games" this year. They are charged up for victory.
The sports festival was held on the initiative of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee.
