The fight against corruption is a crucial state task in strengthening the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Belarus

Since the country gained independence, the President and the country's leadership have viewed corruption as a direct threat to national security, the implementation of the Belarusian economic development model, and the maintenance of stability and harmony in the country.

The urgent need for a tough fight against corruption, as one of the most dangerous anti-social manifestations, requires the most accurate legal regulation of those social relations that are harmed by the commission of corruption-related crimes, in line with objective reality.

Corruption undermines public trust in government, fosters a justifying philosophy of "bribery," discredits market mechanisms of competition and the fight against monopolies in the economy, and facilitates the lobbying of legislative and regulatory acts that encourage large-scale abuses and crime.

Global experience shows that corruption actively thrives when a state experiences serious development difficulties or is undergoing modernization and transitioning to new methods of managing the economy and other vital spheres of life.

Corruption is a complex socio-political phenomenon with deep historical roots. The danger that corruption poses to the state, society, and each individual cannot be overestimated. In a country affected by corruption, economic efficiency sharply declines, poverty and social inequality increase, the gap between society and the authorities widens, politics becomes a sphere of dividing national wealth, the moral foundations of society decay, and irreparable damage is done to the country's prestige internationally.

As a global problem of our time, the issue of corruption in the

or another degree exists in the Republic of Belarus. Being an integral subject of the world community, occupying an important geopolitical position and being a strategic partner for

many countries of near and far abroad, it objectively could not fail to be subject to this phenomenon.

Therefore, an uncompromising and decisive fight against corruption is the central element of the domestic policy of our state.

A barrier has been erected in the country against attempts at unconstitutional actions, artificial exacerbation of social tension, manifestations of extremism and nationalism.

The country's leadership consistently and persistently takes the necessary measures to further strengthen legality and law and order, prevent the penetration of crime into government bodies, into the political and economic spheres.

Under the leadership of the Head of State, a large-scale and uncompromising fight against corruption is being waged in the republic, which has become a global problem of international scale in the 21st century.

Over the past years, significant steps have been taken in the Republic of Belarus to create effective mechanisms for countering corruption, taking into account its own practical experience and the experience gained in this area in other states, as well as the requirements of international anti-corruption standards.

Significant attention is paid to this issue by the Head of State, the Parliament, the Government, the prosecutor's offices, other law enforcement and other state bodies.

A certain system for organizing the fight against corruption has been formed in the republic, which includes:

- development and adoption of an anti-corruption regulatory legal framework and determination of the mechanism for its implementation;

- delimitation of functions and zones of responsibility between state bodies and organization of interaction to counter corruption;

- creation and operation of special anti-corruption units;

- establishment of commissions and coordinating councils at various levels

and meetings on combating crime and corruption; special information-analytical and forensic centers;

- ensuring scientific support for the activities of state bodies combating corruption;

- the use of state media, active involvement of citizens, public organizations and work collectives in anti-corruption activities.

 

Issues of ensuring security, law and order, and combating corruption are constantly in the focus of increased attention of the President of the Republic of Belarus A.G. Lukashenko.

They are raised and periodically considered by the Head of State during such important socio-political events held in the country as the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, the annual Address of the President of the Republic of Belarus to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly, in the speeches of the Head of State dedicated to state holidays, at meetings of various levels on strengthening the defense capability, law and order and state security, during the consideration of reports from heads of various ministries and departments, as well as meetings with representatives of foreign and state media and work collectives of enterprises and organizations of the republic.

It should be remembered that the fight against this phenomenon in the republic is not a short-term campaign, but a crucial task in strengthening the independence and sovereignty of our state, ensuring public safety.

The main source of success in solving this task is strong state power, a strong social policy, the personal responsibility of each for the work performed and its final results.
