Divine Liturgy and Diploma Award Ceremony: Vitebsk Celebrates Seminary Anniversary

Today, celebrations dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the founding and the 15th anniversary of the revival of the Vitebsk Theological Seminary continue in Vitebsk.
The key event was the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, led by Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl. After the service, the head of the Belarusian Orthodox Church presented diplomas and commemorative awards to the seminary staff.
– Today, society has great demands for the spiritual component of life. The world is rapidly changing, it is contradictory, and at times brings grief and pain to people. In difficult situations, a person needs spiritual help, which clergy with special education are ready to provide. The Vitebsk Seminary trains catechists – people who teach the basics of faith, choirmasters and readers who adorn the service with beautiful voices, florists, and other servants. Spiritual education is developing here, it is bearing fruit, but much still needs to be done for the good of our people and country, – emphasized the head of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
