The regional marathon "Oh, Woman! You are the World!" of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the BWS has been launched.
The regional marathon "Oh, Woman! You are the World!" launched at Secondary School No. 46 named after I. Baghramyan, organized by the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the Belarusian Women's Union, dedicated to the Year of Belarusian Women.
The celebration was preceded by the presentation of the "Cornflower Carpet of Love" project.
Marina Novitskaya, Chairperson of the Regional Organization of the Belarusian Women's Union, Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Regional Executive Committee:
– Within the framework of the marathon, three main modules are highlighted: "Woman – Mother," "Woman – Worker," and "Woman – Motherland," reflecting the key aspects of women's roles in society.
The marathon starts in Vitebsk and will form the basis for events in all districts of the region.
Today, as part of the marathon, we will summarize the results of the city stage of the republican competition "Woman of the Year – 2025."
Any marathon involves a series of various events. The "Cornflower Carpet of Love" campaign involves all those women who, perhaps, by their profession are not related to artistic art, but love creativity, filling it with their ideas. And therefore, we invite them to take part, to create, to draw their cornflower, which will complement the large cornflower carpet. We plan to present it on the Day of National Unity.
Oksana Zorina, member of the Belarusian Union of Folk Art Masters, mother of many children:
– In the Year of Belarusian Women, it is important to emphasize the diversity of women's talents. Today, we are presenting the "Cornflower Carpet of Love" project, which was created with the aim of involving our contemporaries from all corners of the region in this campaign. Everyone can show their abilities – be it embroidery, "vytinanka" (paper cutting), or "malyavanka" (folk painting). All works submitted by the district primary organizations of the Belarusian Women's Union will be combined into a single carpet.
We are currently conducting a master class on "malyavanka," in which our guests are participating. We are creating a "cornflower city" – a part of the overall canvas, where each participant can leave her creative mark.
I am glad that such projects exist, as they unite us. We are engaged in a common cause, bringing joy through creativity.
