"The Feat of Fathers is the Pride of Descendants" – under this slogan, a solemn event took place.

The festive atmosphere was felt from the very first minutes: the ringing of medals, firm handshakes, the excitement of guests, and a special sense of belonging to a great history filled the second-floor hall.

An exhibition "Victory in the Name of Life" was also unveiled there, featuring unique wartime evidence. Within the framework of the exhibition, special attention was paid to historical evidence of the role of women who fought on the front lines and carried out underground activities. The stands displayed personal belongings of heroes, archival documents, stories of the exploits of Soviet soldiers, as well as posters and leaflets from the war years.

The State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Volfovich, addressed the participants of the event with a congratulatory speech. He emphasized that the memory of the Great Victory unites generations and remains a moral guide for society.

– The May 9th holiday has entered our lives as a day of glory, pride, and immense gratitude to the generation of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers. This bloody war showed that only a united society of people, who firmly know what they are fighting for, tirelessly working for, and dying for, can repel a strong enemy. Our ancestors did not hesitate for a moment in their fight against the enemy, giving their lives, – said Alexander Volfovich.

Theatrical productions by honored ensembles were organically interwoven with musical numbers by the National Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus. The audience with special feeling joined in singing familiar songs.

For many guests, the evening became not only a cultural event but also a personal reminder of family history.

Anna Galay, an employee of the Vitebsk College of Culture and Arts, shared that she visited the Palace of the Republic for the first time:

– My grandparents fought in the war. Having heard their terrible stories about the hardships of war, I am grateful that we live in peace and stability.

For the family of Anastasia Kozlova, the leading legal advisor of the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, the invitation to the concert was unexpected but very significant:

– May 9th is a very significant date for my family. My great-grandfather fought in the war. Today's event is dedicated, in part, to the descendants of people who experienced the horrors of war. And this is a feat that we have no right to forget.
