"The economy is ahead of production," believes Nikolai Sherstnev. "We cannot discount the issues of employee motivation. There should be no leveling."

In November, when fieldwork on the land subsides, it is time to build tomorrow's strategy. Economic calculations are indispensable here. During a meeting with the heads of agro-industrial complex organizations, the chairman of the regional executive committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, compares the indicators of crop production output per hectare of agricultural land and per hectare of arable land. For a number of agricultural organizations, the conclusion is unequivocal: it is necessary to fundamentally change approaches to economic activity, starting with a review of the land use structure and adherence to technologies.

Personnel changes have affected the executive vertical of the Dubrovensky and Chashniksky district executive committees. The first deputy head of the department of agriculture and food of the Dubrovensky district executive committee, Alexander Korneev, who worked for five years in the same team as the recently appointed head of the district, Oleg Lyndin, has been promoted. Now, the first deputy chairman of the district executive committee, A. Korneev, immediately identifies the main areas of focus in the district's agricultural sector: increasing the indicator of cow density per 100 hectares of agricultural land by increasing the herd size. The conditions for this are favorable: there is enough feed, and facilities for raising calves are being commissioned. The chairman of the regional executive committee notes that a good foundation for further development has been laid in Dubrovenshchina: the output indicator

crop production per hectare of arable land is 60 units. This means that livestock breeders have grounds to achieve double the result.

- Dubrovensky district is one of the basic ones for the region, - emphasized Nikolay Sherstnev. - Others will be guided by it. You need to re-analyze the structure of sown areas in order to more closely link the results of labor in the fields with the capabilities of livestock breeders.

Alexander Surin has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Chashniksky District Executive Committee for Economics, previously headed the district inspection of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties of the Republic of Belarus. He has a good understanding of the situation with accounting and the economics of organizations in the district, therefore, he should implement the requirement of the chairman of the regional executive committee in concrete actions.

- Economics leads production, - Nikolay Sherstnev advises. - We cannot ignore the issues of motivating employees. There can be no leveling between those who work conscientiously and idlers.

A serious review of the sown areas needs to be carried out by the new director of OJSC "Bliznitsa" in the Polotsk district, Bronislav Pilipyonok. It is necessary to increase the efficiency indicators of crop production and raise the work of the agronomic and zootechnical services to the proper level.

Sergey Alkhovka has been managing the agricultural enterprise "Barseevo" in the Liozno district for seven years. Unfortunately, a trend of significant decline in several key indicators is observed here – both in milk production, and in livestock and crop production as a whole. Yes, the enterprise has joined an integration structure, but it is misguided to be hopeful that all problems will be resolved on their own.

- Nobody will do your job for you, - emphasized the chairman of the regional executive committee.

            

The report on the work done by the director of the "Golubichi" branch of OJSC "Gluboksky Meat Processing Plant" was heard with satisfaction.

Both the weight gain of cattle is pleasing, and the branch is developing – a separate room for keeping heifers is being built, and beef cattle breeding is gaining momentum. For the director of OJSC "Lezhni" of the Shumilino district, Alexander Papino, the past year turned out to be a failure, with a particular issue being the decline in milk yield per cow. It is necessary to address both fodder and the working conditions of livestock breeders. The level of milk yield is influenced by a complex of reasons, including unproductive livestock, poor-quality fodder, as well as inattention, or even neglect of personnel. "In any case, problems must be solved through motivating the labor of each worker on the farm and in the field," is convinced the chairman of the regional executive committee. "Given the rich supply of fodder, and this year an average of 30 feed units per head of cattle were prepared in the region, the task is to use them effectively for the production of livestock products. Ultimately, we will get cheaper milk and meat, and therefore, we will become competitive."
