Kochanova urges officials to be responsive to people's appeals
18 April 2019
The way
the authorities handle public complaints and appeals shapes public attitudes
towards the government and the country, therefore it is necessary to be
responsive to people's needs, Head of the Belarus President Administration
Natalya Kochanova told reporters as she received members of the public in Orsha
on 17 April.
Over 30
people registered for the meeting, among them were residents of Orsha District,
Vitebsk, Novopolotsk, Vitebsk District and Lepel District. “The majority of
issues raised during the meeting should have been resolved on the ground.
People voiced complaints of local authorities and company chiefs. There were
incidents where people's appeals were processed only partially. The way the
authorities handle public complaints and appeals shapes public attitudes
towards the government, officials and the country in general, therefore it is
necessary to treat these appeals in the most earnest and attentive way, because
it affects people's lives,” Natalia Kochanova said.
The issues raised during
the meeting dealt with housing and land ownership, the work of housing and
utilities services, child support enforcement, employment and road construction.
