On March 19, the Unified Information Day is held in the work collectives of the Vitebsk region. Speakers address work collectives on the topic: "Modern approaches to regional development: from economy to social infrastructure."

VITEBSK

A meeting with the President's Aide – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Vladimir Yurgevich, was held at SOOO "Belvest".

The focus is on modern approaches to regional development: from economy to social infrastructure.

How will the Vitebsk region develop, taking into account the adopted socio-economic development programs in the next five-year period? This was discussed within the framework of the unified information day with the work collective of SOOO "Belvest". A high-quality development program for the agro-industrial complex in the northern region has been developed. Equipment is already being purchased, and the construction of dairy farms is planned.

– We are identifying points of production growth, striving to improve social infrastructure in other districts, – noted Vladimir Yurgevich. – The second priority is the development of tourism potential. Within the framework of the state program "Belarus Hospitality," we are creating a developed tourism industry capable of providing a high-quality, competitive range of services to meet the needs of the maximum number of tourists in the Braslav, Verkhnedvinsk, Gluboksky, Miory, Postavy, Rossony, and Sharkovshchina districts. We are working to ensure that every resident of the Vitebsk region finds prospects and opportunities for self-realization.

The President's Aide also added that strong regions have been a priority of Belarus's socio-economic development programs for the second five-year period. Ensuring a comprehensive approach to improving the population's welfare, balanced territorial development, and preventing disparities between urban and rural areas are the main objectives of the republic's domestic policy. Creating conditions for the sustainable development of rural territories is one of the most important strategic goals of state policy, the achievement of which ensures national food security, the competitiveness of the agrarian economy, and the welfare of the country's citizens.

It should be noted that the key concept of Belarus's socio-economic development in 2026–2030 will be the formation of a self-sufficient and competitive state, with a focus on the individual. The goal of this concept is to transition to a new quality of life for every Belarusian.

Strong regions have been a priority of the republic's socio-economic development programs for the second consecutive five-year period. The Belarusian state focuses on the individual. That is precisely why improving the quality of life for every Belarusian is among the main tasks of state authorities, economic entities, and the social sphere, - noted the head of the department.

Gennady Trubilo also emphasized that road infrastructure is systematically improving in every region, with roads and sidewalks being repaired. Discipline, responsibility, and dedication are the foundation of well-being. These drivers unite us all and are aimed at increasing the prosperity of both the country as a whole and all its residents.

USHACI

The Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Andrei Lobovich, visited the Ushachi district on a working trip today.

Andrei Valentinovich held a Unified Information Day with the staff of the territorial center for social services to the population and also familiarized himself with the work of its departments.

BRASLAV

Today, a unified information day was held at the "Zaryad" Plant of Special Electronics in Braslav. The head of the main department for healthcare of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Mikhail Vishnevetsky, met with the work collective of the enterprise.

The conversation was informal and very specific. They discussed not only the development of the regions but also what concerns people today: accessibility of medical care, availability of specialist doctors, the work of the district hospital, and the possibility of modern examinations.

Special attention was paid to the prospects for the development of medicine. In a year, a inter-district center for high-tech medical care is planned to be opened in Glubokoye with the installation of an MRI machine. This means that residents of several districts will find it easier and faster to receive the necessary diagnostic services.

After the speech, the enterprise employees were able to ask questions directly. They were interested in issues of gas supply, medical care for women in childbirth, the hospital's provision of specialists and medical supplies. All questions were answered in detail.

Such meetings are important primarily because they allow us to hear people and solve specific problems. After all, the development of the regions is not only about new projects but also about attention to every person.

NOVOPOLOTSK

The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Belarus, Denis Moroz, met with the staff of the Novopolotsk Thermal Power Plant.

– We can have a very strong capital, strong regional centers and cities, but if a powerful infrastructure and production are not formed throughout the Republic of Belarus, it will be very difficult for the state. That is why great attention is paid to regional development in the country. Ensuring a comprehensive approach to improving the population's well-being in the regions, uniform development of territories, and preventing a gap between the city and the village, the capital and the regions are the main tasks of the country's domestic policy, – emphasized the Minister of Energy Denis Moroz during a meeting with the staff as part of a unified information day.

He focused on the problem of urbanization.

As of January 1, 2025, 7,182,690 urban residents (78.9%) and only 1,926,590 rural residents (21.1%) lived in the Republic of Belarus.

– Indeed, it is the rural areas that ensure the food security of our country. The main vector of regional policy is to create favorable conditions for work, business, self-realization, and comfortable living for people in any settlement of the country. Therefore, several large-scale state programs related to regional development continue to be implemented in Belarus, – noted the speaker.

The minister elaborated on the significance of the "One District – One Project" initiative. Thanks to the opportunity to receive state support in the form of preferential credit resources, small and medium-sized businesses are motivated to implement production projects. Often, this involves the emergence of completely new areas of activity in the regions.

Denis Moroz also touched upon housing construction issues, including rental housing.

The speaker paid special attention to the topic of regional development through the prism of energy provision.

– The operation of industry depends precisely on the availability of energy resources. Moreover, without a sufficient amount of energy resources, it is impossible to imagine comfortable living conditions for the population in the regions of our country.

Thus, thanks to the commissioning of the Belarusian NPP, our country has a tariff for electrical energy that can be used for heating and hot water supply. And this provides an impetus for creating comfortable living conditions in the regions, – the minister concluded.

At the end of the meeting, the enterprise employees had the opportunity to ask questions. Attendees were interested in the commissioning of the third power unit of the Belarusian NPP and the construction of the second nuclear power plant in the country, as well as personnel training for the energy sector.
