The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Natalia Kochanova, held a personal reception of citizens in Novopolotsk.
Residents from different regions of the country came to the speaker with their problems. The appeals concerned housing issues, the activities of housing and communal services, employment, and others.
One of the first to attend the reception was a young resident of Novopolotsk, who complained that she could not get on the waiting list for rental housing: the city executive committee refused her. She could not get an appointment with the head of the city. The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic instructed representatives of the local authorities and the management of the enterprise where the couple works to deal with this issue and propose an optimal solution.
— People who want to come to a reception with representatives of local authorities and enterprise managers must have such an opportunity. And our task, within the framework of the law, is to advise a person on how to solve their problem, — emphasized Natalia Kochanova.
A family from Polotsk came with their misfortune: their gas has been disconnected in their apartment for 12 years due to unsuitable ventilation. The issue has not yet been resolved.
Natalia Kochanova instructed to send the issue for consideration to the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services so that specialized services can conduct the necessary studies of the ventilation system and provide a competent conclusion. And if there is a problem, solve it.
— It was long overdue to deal with this issue and put an end to it, — emphasized the speaker.
A resident of Vitebsk came for an appointment with proposals to amend the current legislation in the field of animal protection. She cited several cases of dishonest work by animal control services and animal cruelty towards dogs. The woman herself has been helping stray four-legged friends for over 7 years.
— It is unacceptable when stray dogs roam around and people suffer from them. But animal cruelty is also unacceptable, — commented Natalia Kochanova on the appeal and promised to consider the proposals with the deputies.
There were also collective appeals. Thus, participants in shared construction from Bobruisk complained about a dishonest developer who had not completed the promised reconstruction of the barracks building into a residential house.
The Chairman of the Bobruisk City Executive Committee, Maxim Gurin, informed that there is already an algorithm for completing the construction of this facility. Co-investors of a parking lot under construction in Minsk approached with a similar problem. Money was invested, but the developer turned out to be a fraudster and refuses to complete the facility. The Chairman of the Council of the Republic instructed the leadership of the Minsk City Executive Committee to thoroughly investigate the situation and restore justice.
An applicant from Mogilev asked for help in resolving the issue of allocating social housing, which she is legally entitled to. But now the woman has been removed from the waiting list. The issue has been taken under control and will be studied in detail.
Residents of Polotsk and Novopolotsk sought assistance in employment. The speaker emphasized that if people want to work, they should be helped to find their place, they should not be idlers.
In addition, Natalia Kochanova was approached with questions about preferential housing construction, payment of maternity capital, alimony recovery, and the functioning of a garage construction cooperative.
The geography of the appeals once again confirmed the high level of trust in this format of working with the population.
