The Prosecutor General's Office of Belarus requests to send information about the facts of genocide of the population of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War
The criminal proceedings initiated by the Prosecutor General's Office to investigate the facts of genocide are aimed at identifying specific individuals among the German invaders and their accomplices who managed to evade responsibility for the murder of civilians, abuse and torture in death camps and ghettos, and mass deportation of civilians into German slavery.
The investigative team of the Prosecutor General's Office is currently working with archival documents and criminal cases from previous years concerning Nazi criminals and their accomplices. It plans to carry out procedural and other actions related to the discovery of mass burial sites, as well as to identify living witnesses and victims of genocide, protect their rights and legitimate interests, and perpetuate the memory of the deceased.
In connection with the investigation of this criminal case, we appeal to all citizens of Belarus and other countries with a request to send to the Prosecutor General's Office documents, materials, statements, and other information about the actions committed by the German occupation authorities and their accomplices, and bandit formations to exterminate the civilian population of Belarus, and other facts of genocide during the period under review.
