Main Financial Directorate: the fee for crossing the state border in the Vitebsk region is projected to be Br100 thousand by the end of the year.

In the Vitebsk region, based on the results of 2021, the collection of the local fee for crossing the state border by vehicles is projected to be around Br100 thousand, reported Gennady Grebnev, head of the main financial department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

In the Vitebsk region, a local fee of the basic amount (Br29) per vehicle has been introduced from August 1 to January 1, 2023, and is paid into the regional budget. As of early October, about Br63 thousand has already been collected, Gennady Grebnev said. These funds are directed to finance the healthcare sector, including the purchase of medicines and medical devices.

The fee is levied upon departure from the country at border crossing points with Latvia ("Grigorovshchina", "Gavrilino", "Urbany", "Plyusy") and Lithuania ("Vidzy", "Moldovichi", "Lyntupy"). These points are located in the Verkhnedvinsk, Braslav, and Postavy districts.

According to the regional tax inspectorate, in January-September, over Br1.7 billion was received into the budget of the Vitebsk region, including about Br460 million into the republican budget. Approximately Br1.3 billion was attracted to the local budget, which is about 16% more than in the same period of 2020, with additional revenues amounting to about Br170 million.

The most significant sources of revenue for the Vitebsk region budget remain personal income tax, which forms over 28% of the treasury's revenue part (revenue for 9 months exceeded Br484 million), as well as VAT - 26.8% (Br461.5 million), excise taxes - 15.1% (Br259.7 million), and profit tax - 6.8% (Br118 million).
