Main Department for Education: 5,520 eleventh-graders will receive secondary school completion certificates

Certificates will be awarded to graduates of schools in the Vitebsk region outdoors. The ceremonies will be held on June 10-11, as reported by the main department for education of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

On the recommendation of the department, almost all events are planned for June 10. Depending on the number of children and graduating classes, the management of educational institutions will independently decide on the timing of the certificate award ceremonies. For safety reasons, parents will be seated at the celebration taking into account social distancing. The decision on restricting the sale of alcohol on these days is left to the discretion of local authorities.

In the coming days, school administrations, together with parents and children, will decide on the format of graduation parties. "In the traditional sense, as it was before, they will not be held, of course. However, we do not want to deprive graduates of the celebration. Options for how to celebrate it are currently being discussed," the department noted.

In the Vitebsk region, 9,567 teenagers will be awarded certificates for obtaining general basic education this year. 5,520 eleventh-graders will receive certificates for completing secondary school.
