Main Department for Education: The network of agro-classes will be expanded in the Vitebsk region

The Vitebsk region intends to expand the network of specialized agricultural classes. For this purpose, a development program for agricultural-oriented classes until 2023 is being developed, as reported by the main department for education of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

Agricultural profile classes have been operating in the region's schools since September 1, 2018. This year, they had their first graduation. In the new academic year, 43 classes of this orientation will be opened in the region for 266 students.

The department recalled that the decision to create agricultural classes was made with the aim of conducting career guidance work with students for in-demand agricultural specialties. Training in a specialized class involves studying two specialized subjects at an advanced level - chemistry and biology, or mathematics and physics, mathematics and a foreign language, which are necessary for admission to higher education institutions. Students of these classes also study the elective course "Introduction to Agricultural Professions".

"Our task is to form a positive attitude towards the agro-industrial complex among the students, to introduce them to the best agricultural enterprises and educational institutions, and to show that today this sphere is high-tech. This is confirmed by a decent level of salaries and working conditions, and the labor of people in this profession is valued and enjoys well-deserved respect in society," emphasized the specialists.
