Main Department of Trade and Services: more than 50 thousand sweet gifts will arrive in the retail chains of the Vitebsk region for the Christmas and New Year holidays
Preparation of trade and public catering facilities for the holiday period began back in November. Most shops, shopping centers, cafes, and restaurants have already adopted a festive look and are ready to offer a wide range of goods and dishes.
"In the pre-New Year days, more than 3.5 thousand events are planned to be held in the region's trade network to stimulate consumer demand: sales exhibitions, promotional campaigns with reduced retail prices, and sales. In large retail enterprises with their own production, pre-orders from the public for the production of culinary and confectionery products, semi-finished products, including banquet-style, are being accepted. To ensure uninterrupted trade, it is planned to supply more than 50 thousand sweet New Year's gifts and over 100 tons of candies to the trade network," the main department noted.
Manufacturers in the northern region have expanded their range and paid attention to festive thematic packaging.
Pre-New Year and Christmas fairs in the Vitebsk region will start operating from December 16. Until January 8, more than 80 such fairs are planned to be held in the cities and district centers of the region. Local residents will be offered food, non-food products, and public catering services. An expanded sale of Christmas tree decorations, carnival costumes, artificial Christmas trees and pines, souvenirs, hosiery, knitwear with New Year's themes, and others has already been organized in the retail network.
Public catering facilities are extending their operating hours. In particular, seven establishments in Vitebsk have submitted relevant applications. Cafes and restaurants are currently continuing to develop festive menus ready to surprise even gourmets.
It is assumed that in public catering establishments this year, the estimated cost of events per person will range from Br50 (such prices are mainly set in district centers) to Br150 in Vitebsk itself.
New Year's evergreen trees will be available for purchase starting from December 21. More than 200 sites have been designated for Christmas tree markets in the region, 15 of which are located in Vitebsk.
