Main Department of Trade and Services: 2.6 times more apples will be laid in the stabilization funds of the Vitebsk region
The volume of apple reserves in the stabilization funds of the Vitebsk region has been increased by 2.6 times. This was announced by Irina Levkovich, a member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly and head of the main department of trade and services of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
For the inter-seasonal period, it is planned to stock about 19 thousand tons of potatoes, vegetables, and fruits in the stabilization funds of the northern region. The stocking norms are formed to meet the full demand of the domestic market and correspond to the volumes calculated by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade. This calculation was carried out by the department based on statistical data for the previous three years on the sales of domestic and imported crop products by trade and public catering organizations. "The volumes of stocking potatoes and vegetables of the 2022 harvest practically correspond to the stocking level of the previous inter-seasonal period. In particular, it is planned to stock more than 7.6 thousand tons of potatoes, over 3.2 thousand tons of cabbage, about 1.4 thousand tons of carrots, more than 1.9 thousand tons of onions, and 830 tons of beets. She added that the supply of fruits and vegetables to trade facilities in the Vitebsk region will be carried out in accordance with contracts. Residents of the region will also be able to purchase vegetables, fruits, and other goods at agricultural fairs. More than 2,000 places have been created at markets of various ownership forms for these purposes. In addition, executive committees have identified about 300 additional sites. These are trading places in cities, district centers, large settlements, as well as sites located along roads.
