Main Department of Trade and Services: In the Vitebsk region, shops were preferred over school fairs
"The format of school fairs is becoming obsolete. Often they were held on the streets on weekends, when most families went to relax outside the city. Moreover, it is impossible to set up a fitting area in tents, and the weather conditions are sometimes less than ideal. To create the most comfortable conditions for adult and young shoppers, this year we are prioritizing the sale of school supplies in stores. In the Vitebsk region, a wide range of goods, from backpacks to school uniforms, has already arrived in retail outlets. Until September, trade entities, together with manufacturers of this type of product, will hold more than 150 exhibitions-sales and clearance sales. Also, mobile trade will be organized in the district centers of the region: about 30 school fairs will be held in the regions," the main department noted.
The need for this form of trade in school goods also arose from the wishes of parents, who find it more convenient to come to the store with their children, where there are comfortable fitting rooms with mirrors, and consultants help with choosing the right model. It is also easier here to exchange items that did not fit the child in size or color within two weeks of purchase, upon presentation of a receipt. Also, many large shopping centers have their own websites and social media accounts, which list special offers, making it easier for parents to navigate store offerings.
Clothing for schoolchildren is mainly represented by products from enterprises of "Bellegprom". Necessary items can be purchased on installment plans with repayment up to 3 months, by obtaining a bank loan for up to 18 months, and using installment cards for up to 5 months. A full set of clothes for boys of different ages costs approximately Br90-200, for girls - Br85-190.
On average, the price of a set of writing and stationery supplies, depending on the student's age, ranges from Br70 to Br150. This includes the cost of a backpack and all the necessary "fillings" - pens, rulers, notebooks, albums, diaries, etc.
