A state association of local industry enterprises will be established in the Vitebsk region

The head of the region presented a report of the regional executive committee at the session on the fulfillment of the main parameters of the socio-economic development forecast for the region in 2016 and the tasks for 2017. Nikolai Sherstnev noted that the creation of a state association of local industry enterprises will optimize the management of enterprises – management functions will be concentrated in one body.

In addition, comprehensive control over the activities of enterprises and their development will be ensured, and the efficiency of state property management will be increased. The main goals of the association are the effective resolution of economic issues, the implementation of plans for the reconstruction and modernization of production capacities, an increase in export supplies, and an improvement in production cooperation. It is planned that at the first stage, 8 local industry enterprises, 3 printing houses, OAO "Obolsky Ceramic Plant", and OAO "Vitebsk Cardboard and Printing Combine" will be included in the association.

At the second stage, it is planned to include another 14 enterprises of republican subordination. As explained in the Committee for Economics of the Regional Executive Committee, the draft decree of the President is currently being coordinated in accordance with the established procedure, according to which it is envisaged to transfer one industrial enterprise (as a property complex) and shares of 16 business entities, including 13 producing non-food products, from republican ownership to the ownership of administrative-territorial units. Enterprises from this list will be included in the state association at the second stage of its creation.
