Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: from July 1, the share of bonuses in the salary structure of public sector employees will increase

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of December 22, 2020 No. 482, starting from July 1 of the current year, the approaches to awarding bonuses to employees of state-funded organizations will change.

Namely, the volume of resources for bonuses will be formed and directed in the amount of 20 percent of the salary fund of employees of state-funded organizations (previously – 5 percent).

Attention! The adopted change is not aimed at increasing the salaries of public sector employees.

The increase in bonuses will occur exclusively within the limits of the budgetary allocations allocated for the current year for labor remuneration. That is, there will be a redistribution between its elements due to the adjustment of the amounts of other individual incentive payments.

Important! The redistribution of funds between incentive payments, with the same duration of working time and intensity, will not lead to a decrease in the level of remuneration of employees established before July 1, 2021.

An important innovation is also that unused funds allocated for labor remuneration will also be directed towards bonuses.

These measures will allow increasing the share of bonuses in the volume of incentive payments to employees of state-funded organizations and thereby motivate employees to conscientiously perform their job duties.

At the same time, as before July 1, 2021, the Decree regulates only the amount of funds directed to bonuses for employees of the organization (20 percent of the salary fund of employees). The specific amount of the employee's bonus is determined in accordance with the regulations approved by the head of the state-funded organization.

We remind you! This Decree provides for another norm. This is an increase from January 1, 2022, in the amount of the one-time payment for health improvement, which is usually paid for vacation, from 0.5 to one employee's salary.
