Regional Agricultural Production: Vitebsk region farmers have sown 77% of winter grain areas
— Vitebsk, Polotsk, and Dubrovno districts are leading. They have practically completed the campaign. Colleagues from other regions are trying not to lag behind them. Thanks to this, we have already managed to exceed last year's result by 8 thousand hectares, — said Valery Nerozya, head of the department of agriculture, crop production, and fodder production of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee's Agriculture and Food Committee. — If the weather continues to be favorable and the equipment does not fail, farmers plan to complete sowing within the defined volume and timeframe.
Corn for silage has been harvested from 35.4 thousand hectares (38.9%), with a green mass yield of 217 c/ha. In total, 18.6 c of feed units per conventional head of cattle have been prepared for the stall period. Flax straw has been harvested from 10.1 thousand hectares (91.6%).
