Regional Agricultural Production: Harvesting of corn has begun in all districts of the Vitebsk region. Verkhnedvinsk and Polotsk districts are leading in terms of pace.
As reported by the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee, as of the morning of October 4, 35.3 thousand hectares allocated for corn have been harvested, which is 39 percent of the plan.
The yield of green mass this year is lower than last year's and amounts to 218 centners per hectare. 426 hectares of land have been harvested for grain with a yield of 70 centners per hectare.
In terms of corn harvesting pace, the farms of Verkhnedvinsk and Polotsk districts are leading, with 77 percent and 74 percent of the plan harvested, respectively.
