The internet does not absolve one of responsibility

This delusion is also suffered by so-called "internet" malefactors: they block access for bona fide users, steal money from accounts, and post extremist calls and materials. In their opinion, if they do not leave their calling cards with names and addresses after these unlawful actions, then no one will ever find them. But this is a deeply mistaken opinion, an overestimation of their own abilities.

Law enforcement agencies of many countries, including the Republic of Belarus, have proven this through their work in combating cybercrime, as evidenced by criminal cases and court decisions.

Thus, internet fraudsters, residents of Orsha, Minsk, and citizens of Russia, who allegedly, on behalf of internal affairs and state security bodies, blocked Internet users' access demanding payment of fictitious fines for viewing "incorrect" websites, are being brought to criminal responsibility. The criminal case against these "hackers" has already been sent to the court of Orsha district.

The court will provide a legal assessment of the "exploits" of citizen G., a resident of Vitebsk, who advertised Nazi symbols and his adventures in the Ukrainian Donbas on the Internet.

By decisions of the court of Oktyabrsky district of Vitebsk, 2 materials posted in the Belarusian segment of the Internet, inciting national, racial, and religious strife and hatred, which were identified by state security agencies, have been recognized as extremist this year.

Such examples are not isolated, as in special units of internal affairs and state security agencies engaged in combating cybercrime, there are employees who, with their professionalism in computer technologies, not only do not yield to, but also surpass self-taught hackers.
