Results of work with citizens' appeals

One of the criteria for evaluating the activities of any government body is the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens. The successful resolution of tasks largely depends on the effectiveness of interaction with the public.

In 2020, the Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor's Office considered both written appeals from citizens and oral appeals during personal meetings.

In 2020, the prosecutor's office received 47 (2019 - 39) appeals from citizens and 19 (21) from legal entities. The most frequent issues concerned supervision during pre-trial proceedings, as well as supervision of legislation enforcement and recovery of damages caused to enterprises.

For example, in April 2020, a fire occurred in the dormitory building of UP "K.". It was established that the cause of the fire was the careless handling of fire by a man living in the room. The Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor, in the interests of the enterprise, filed a lawsuit to recover damages caused by the fire, as well as the costs of restoring the premises after the fire from the guilty person, totaling 3,438 rubles, which was subsequently satisfied by the court.

In 2020, as in 2019, no collective appeals were received by the prosecutor's office.

During personal meetings, employees of the Vitebsk Transport Prosecutor's Office received 16 citizens, as well as 5 representatives of business entities.

As before, during personal meetings, citizens address issues of a consultative nature related to compliance with labor legislation, administrative liability, and transport activities.
