HR Day: What should be done to minimize the negative consequences of hot and dry June weather?

– In some western regions, where there has been practically no rain for two months, crops have been severely damaged. Fields of spring rapeseed, flax, and grain crops have burned out, – shared his observations the chairman of the regional executive committee at a field day, where enterprise heads were invited to agree on appointments and contract renewals. – What should be done to minimize the negative consequences for the agricultural economy?

Nikolai Nikolaevich asked this question to each manager to jointly develop the most effective strategy for managing agricultural enterprises. The climate is changing, and the management link of the agricultural sector needs to show flexibility of thought in calculating economic benefits.

Dmitry Gutor has been appointed director of OJSC "Znamya Pobedy Agro" in the Postavy district. In the current situation, he says that now it is necessary to make every effort to procure fodder. Together with a neighboring farm, they have formed a special detachment for fodder procurement. The chairman supported the initiative, believing that the most affected western regions can procure grass in the eastern ones, thus organizing mutual assistance.

The situation is changing every day, – says Nikolai Sherstnev. – And not for the better. We need to act immediately. Re-sow damaged areas so that there is something to feed the livestock in winter.

Farmers note that winter rye will yield from the fields – it proved to be more resilient in arid conditions. Moreover, the winter acreage is best suited for the loamy soils characteristic of our region. There is also a promising result in the fields with rapeseed. Recommendations to intensify efforts to improve livestock performance are addressed to the deputy directors of enterprises in Gluboksky and Sharkovshchinsky districts: "Ozertsy", "Zolotaya Podkova", "Zhviranka", "Dovatorsky" Sergey Mushkat, Alexander Stukan, Petr Ananko, Nikolay Antopkin. The farms are part of the integration structure of OJSC "Gluboksky Feed Mill", which means there should be no problems with providing the necessary equipment.

Andrey Sokolovsky and Alexander Aksenovich have taken up new appointments. The former is the director of the Gluboksky Dairy and Canned Goods Plant, and the latter is the director of KUPP "Borovka" in Lepel district. The managers are tasked with working ahead of the market. Everything produced must be sold and generate income.

The experience of OJSC "Vitebsk Broiler Poultry Farm" demonstrates that precise preliminary calculation is always necessary in agricultural work, so that every ruble spent works for development, i.e., pays off and brings profit. Its General Director Anna Norkus spoke at a personnel day about the development of the enterprise, which is focused on a complete closed-loop agricultural production cycle. Three lagging agricultural enterprises were joined to the factory, and the area of agricultural land has almost tripled since 2015. The situation has fundamentally changed. Now these are three modern agro-industrial complexes that are intensively developing, profitable, and have no losses. Milk yields are approaching 7 thousand kg per cow. This is also facilitated by its own feed mill. In the future, upon completion of the construction of the rapeseed processing line, the holding will cover 60% of its need for rapeseed oil.

It is noteworthy that the poultry farm plows new areas every year, developing fields in the Surazh zone, where it carries out complex land reclamation work. There must be order on the land. This is the firm conviction of Anna Norus. Everything starts with this. And as a result, "Ganna's" products with deep processing are in demand in the Chinese market, and work is currently underway to open a trade representative office of the enterprise in Kazakhstan.

The scale of transformations at Vitebskaya Broiler is truly impressive. Currently, a project for the construction of a new slaughterhouse has been developed here. Its implementation is allocated two years. The holding company associates its future with its commissioning.

For every manager, the main thing is not to rest on their laurels, but to build an enterprise development strategy through profit-generating logistics. Then no weather factor can affect the stability of the agricultural economy.
