It is appropriate to recall it in the context of the chairman of the regional executive committee's personnel day, when Nikolai Sherstnev discusses the performance of each manager. After all, the development indicators of the region depend on the efficiency of individual enterprises, and therefore, on how much better our lives will be.

At the "Uzhitsa-Agro" enterprise in Verkhnedvinsk district, things are going uphill. Over the five years that Alexei Garbul managed the farm, key production indicators have significantly increased. Now, the young manager has been offered to apply his knowledge and experience in a new position – First Deputy Chairman – Head of the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Verkhnedvinsk District Executive Committee. The candidacy of his first deputy was proposed by the chairman of the district executive committee, Vasily Shilov, who appreciated his business qualities.

– Your educational specialty – veterinary medicine – will be very useful in your work, – believes Nikolai Sherstnev. – What you have done in one farm now needs to be projected onto the district. For example, the average milk yield per cow in your farm is higher than in the district, which means you need to strive for growth, to catch up with the laggards. Dairy production is your reserve.

Прокопенко has been approved for the position of Director of the Vitebsk Grain Processing Plant. Prior to his appointment, he headed the Vitebsk branch of the regional unitary enterprise for fuel supply "Vitebskobltop". The Grain Processing Plant is part of the structure of OJSC "Vitebsk Meat Packing Plant". Therefore, the chairman of the regional executive committee is primarily interested in the opinion of Viktor Poznyak (Director of OJSC "Vitebsk Meat Packing Plant") on why the grain processing plant is operating at a loss. The problem is that agricultural organizations have accumulated debts to the compound feed supplier and are not in a hurry to pay them off. For the grain processing plant to increase production volumes and reach break-even operation, it needs to be supplied with its own grain grown by organizations that are part of the raw material zone of the meat packing plant. This will significantly reduce costs. In other words, it all starts in the fields. The more productively crop production works, the better the affairs at the grain processing plant will go. The new director has also been tasked with tidying up the enterprise's territory. It is adjacent to the "Polotsk" overpass, the first phase of which is expected to be commissioned this year. Therefore, it is necessary to give all facilities a presentable appearance to welcome guests and participants of the rural workers' festival "Dazhynki-2019" in Vitebsk.

Appointments to leadership positions also affected OJSC "Studionka" in the Sennensky district. Dmitry Lyudchik was the deputy director at the same farm until February. Before that, he managed another agricultural enterprise in the same district for more than two years. "Studionka" is not showing good results. The head of the region demands that the manager determine priorities, organize work in animal husbandry in compliance with all technologies, and complete the construction of livestock facilities.

Candidates for contract extensions for the directors of OJSC "Nikolaevsky" Aleksey Lavrinovich (Miory district), OJSC "Priozerny Mir" Yuri Savitsky, KUSKhP "Mishnevichi" Mikhail Tikovenko (Shumilino district), OJSC "Mayak Vysokoe" Oleg Makarevich (Orsha district) were considered. Each farm has reserves for growth. The leader must be result-oriented and see the prospect. In "Nikolaevsky," a milking parlor is being completed, which means milk production should reach a new level. It is no less important to improve the indicators for young stock reproduction and average daily weight gain. Adherence to technological discipline requires persistent and conscientious work from livestock breeders.

"We expect consistent work from you," said Nikolay Nikolayevich Sherstnev, addressing the directors. "A breakthrough in the enterprise's economy will not happen on its own."

OJSC "Mayak Vysokoe" can be cited as an example for lagging enterprises. Despite the fact that land reclamation in these areas was carried out a long time ago, the farm has accumulated good experience in crop production. There is a high density of livestock per unit of agricultural land, and the total cattle population is 9.5 thousand heads. The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee instructed Oleg Makarevich to improve the results of fodder cultivation and procurement, and the district leadership to assist with the purchase of the necessary equipment for this purpose.

Nikolai Sherstnev set tasks for Stanislav Zavadsky, Director of UP ZhKKh of Ushachi District, on bringing order to public urban areas, and on current and capital repairs of the housing stock.
