The staff of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, together with veterans of the prosecutor's bodies, visited the Ushachi land

In 2006, a veteran organization was established and is operating within the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office. Veterans always march "shoulder to shoulder" with us and are ready to share their wisdom at any moment, and we, in turn, accept, respect, and do not forget the contribution they have made to the prosecutor's office system.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War, which brought countless suffering to many peoples of the world. The Republic of Belarus was no exception, as there is not a single corner of our Motherland that was not touched by this "evil".

In memory of this historical event, the staff of the Vitebsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, together with veterans of the prosecutor's office, visited the Ushachi land, where historical sites are literally scattered: from burial mounds to obelisks and large-scale monuments of the Great Patriotic War.

We began our journey with a visit to the cultural institution "Ushachi Museum of People's Glory named after Vladimir Eliseevich Lobanok," where we familiarized ourselves with 4 exhibition halls highlighting the history of the partisan movement in Ushachi during the Great Patriotic War, the partisan art gallery, and the exhibition hall.

Next, we proceeded to the memorial complex dedicated to the legendary breakthrough of the blockade of the Polotsk-Lepel zone by sixteen partisan detachments led by the future Hero of the Soviet Union V.E. Lobanok, which was carried out by German-fascist troops. Visiting this complex, one realizes that "The Breakthrough" is one of the most significant creations of monumental art of the BSSR.

To conclude an already eventful day, we visited the estate-museum of the Belarusian writer and public figure, a participant of the Great Patriotic War, Captain Vasil Bykov, where we familiarized ourselves with the everyday items of the writer's family and some of his personal belongings and letters.

After all that has been heard and seen, one wants to say: "We must remember!"

We must remember the heroic traditions of the past and that the independence of the Republic of Belarus was "forged" during the years of the Great

Great Patriotic War. Visiting such places further develops the already immense interest in historical events and the fates of people who preserved peace on Earth. It fosters a respectful, engaged attitude towards the events of the Great Patriotic War, and towards veterans of war and labor.
