Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection: about 2.5 thousand social workers in the Vitebsk region will receive bonuses for working during the tense epidemic situation

About 2.5 thousand employees of inpatient social institutions and 24-hour care units in the Vitebsk region will receive bonuses for working during a tense epidemiological situation.

– To prevent the spread of infection among more than 4,000 elderly citizens and disabled people residing in these institutions, the staff has been working on a shift basis since April. Employees starting a shift are tested for COVID-19. They are provided with accommodation and will be paid daily allowances. During the inter-shift period, they must observe a number of restrictions with maximum self-isolation, – said Nina Kolymaga, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Regional Executive Committee.

Nina Ivanovna noted that in the current conditions, the Decree No. 169 "On material incentives for employees of organizations providing social services" signed by the President of the Republic of Belarus on May 18, 2020, is very relevant for preserving the work collectives of social institutions. Since April, they are entitled to a bonus for 169 hours of work in this mode: if cases of infection and contact with infected persons are detected – from 900 to 1500 rubles (depending on the staff category), if there are no such episodes – from 250 to 500 rubles.
