Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee: "Labor protection is the main component of the culture of agricultural work"

 In accordance with the order of the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, from March 25 to April 30, mobile groups conducted work on the territory of the region to identify and promptly eliminate violations of labor and labor protection legislation that create prerequisites for employee injuries during the sowing campaign.

109 agricultural organizations and 255 agro-industrial complex facilities were inspected, where over 1,000 violations were identified.

The majority of the identified shortcomings are the result of violations by agricultural organizations of labor safety requirements set forth in the industry's regulatory and technical legal acts.

Special attention was paid to the timely conduct of labor protection briefings, provision of employees with workwear, availability of special places for short-term rest, meals, and smoking, legality of involving minors in work, and compliance by employees with labor and production discipline.

Particular control is exercised over the admission of tractors, agricultural machinery, and units to operation, and their compliance with safety requirements.

The heads of organizations were instructed to remove 105 employees from work who had not undergone training, instruction, knowledge testing, and who were not using (or provided with) personal protective equipment. The operation of 92 units of equipment was suspended, and the production of 10 types of work was prohibited until violations were eliminated.

The effectiveness of the raid activities is confirmed by the fact that no accidents occurred during the direct performance of spring field work in the agricultural organizations of the Vitebsk region.

At the same time, there are cases of employee injuries related to the preparation, repair, and maintenance of agricultural machinery.

Due to the continuation of intensive work in the fields, the raid activities to ensure safe working conditions have been extended until May 31, as evidenced by a corresponding order.
