Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: results of two-week raids during the preparation and conduct of spring field work

Safety during the spring sowing campaign is a matter that requires increased attention.

A month-long campaign to ensure safe working conditions during the preparation and conduct of spring field work is being held in organizations of the agro-industrial complex in accordance with the order of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee dated March 14, 2022, No. 55r.

The main goal of the month-long campaign is to take additional measures to ensure the safety of workers, prevent occupational injuries, and increase the responsibility of managers and specialists of organizations for ensuring healthy and safe working conditions.

Over two weeks (from March 28 to April 8, 2022), mobile groups of district executive committees, with the participation of representatives of supervisory and control bodies and trade unions, inspected 57 organizations and 122 objects of the agro-industrial complex, and 300 workplaces, where 596 violations of the requirements of current legislation in the field of safe labor were identified.

Farms in Postavy, Dubrovno, Braslav, Tolochin, Rossony, and Senno districts were inspected.

Based on the results of the mobile groups' work, the operation of 54 units of equipment was suspended, the production of 6 types of work was prohibited, and 34 employees were removed from work.

During the work of the mobile groups, the following typical violations were identified and recommended for elimination:

  • random supports (wooden blocks, construction blocks, bricks, etc.) were used for repairing and storing equipment, and construction debris was stored on the territory;
  • various production equipment is allowed to be operated in violation of established safety requirements;
  • violations regarding the provision of safety briefings and knowledge testing on labor protection, and periodic monitoring of working conditions.

Individual violations related to the maintenance of the organization's territory, storage, and warehousing of material assets were identified.

Non-conformities were established regarding the organization of provision and the procedure for employees to use means

personal protective equipment, first-aid kits in tractors are not equipped in accordance with the list of contents.

In some farms of the Polotsk district, mechanics and drivers were examined without a breathalyzer.

During the month, 127 additional briefings were held.

Work on carrying out preventive measures to ensure occupational safety and health requirements during the preparation and conduct of spring field work will be continued.
