Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: results of the first week of raids during the preparation and conduct of spring field work

In pursuance of the order of the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee dated March 14, 2022, No. 55r, a month of ensuring safe working conditions during the preparation and conduct of spring field work is being held in the region.

During the first week (from March 28 to April 04, 2022), mobile groups formed from specialists of executive committees, representatives of supervisory and control bodies, the center for hygiene, epidemiology and public health, trade unions, the prosecutor's office, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Department of Internal Affairs inspected 12 organizations and 34 objects of the agro-industrial complex, 72 workplaces, where 149 violations of the requirements of current legislation in the field of safe labor were identified.

By taking organizational and disciplinary measures, 30 percent of the violations were immediately eliminated, as they did not require financial costs.

In a number of organizations, non-compliance was identified regarding the organization of provision and the procedure for using personal protective equipment; first-aid kits were not present in all production areas, or the list of contents was incomplete (expired).

In farms, when repairing and storing equipment, random supports (wooden blocks, construction blocks, bricks, etc.) were used; during welding operations, secondary commutation cables with damaged insulation were used.

Work on cleaning utility rooms from production combustible waste has not been organized; buildings and structures are not equipped with primary fire extinguishing means; fire shields with a set of manual fire fighting equipment are missing.

Individual violations related to the maintenance of the organization's territory, storage and warehousing of material assets (materials, spare parts) were identified.

Based on the results of the mobile groups' work, 17 units of equipment were suspended, 6 types of work were prohibited, and 10 employees were removed from work.

During the month, 28 additional briefings were conducted.

Work on carrying out preventive measures aimed at preventing offenses by all subjects is underway, in

the period of preparation and conduct of spring field work will be continued.
