Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: the number of workplace fatalities decreased by 12.5%
Based on the results of the first half of 2022, the trend of decreasing fatalities in the workplace, in fires, as a result of road traffic accidents, and drowning continues, and the crime situation has stabilized. However, the number of deaths from alcohol poisoning has increased, and the number of suicides is growing.
The measures taken contributed to a 12.5 percent decrease in workplace fatalities. A 10 percent reduction in road traffic accidents was recorded on the region's roads.
The number of crimes committed while intoxicated has increased. However, there is a 12% decrease in the total number of registered crimes committed in public places.
More than 500 employees were dismissed for drinking alcoholic beverages at the workplace and during working hours. In accordance with Decree No. 3, the work of 26 standing commissions to promote employment has been intensified in the Vitebsk region.
The main attention was paid to the work of prevention entities to eliminate emergency situations, prevent deaths from alcohol and suicides, as well as prevent drunkenness at work and at home.
The commission's decision outlined a series of practical measures aimed at the strict implementation of the requirements of Decree No. 1 of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
