Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection: Employers have declared information about 9.7 thousand vacancies in the Vitebsk region
As of July 1, 2022, 1199 people were registered as unemployed in the Vitebsk region, which is 12.2 percent less than on July 1, 2021 (1366 people).
The registered unemployment rate as of July 1, 2022, was 0.3 percent and has not changed compared to the rate on July 1, 2021.
In January-June 2022, 11218 people applied to the employment service for assistance in finding employment (1.9 percent more than in January-June 2021), of whom 4641 people were registered as unemployed (9.1 percent less).
Within the framework of the State Program "Labor Market and Employment Promotion" for 2021-2025, in January-June 2022:
The employment rate of citizens who sought assistance was 67.5 percent, which is 1.8 percentage points higher than in January-June 2021.
As of July 1, 2022, employers reported 9686 vacancies, an increase of 7.9 percent compared to July 1, 2021 (8978).

- 8570 people were employed in permanent jobs;
- 257 people were sent for training in professions in demand on the labor market;
- 62 unemployed people received subsidies to start their own businesses;
- 1527 people participated in paid public works;
- temporary employment was provided to 2736 students during their free time;
- 9 unemployed people were employed as part of acquiring practical work experience;
- adaptation to work activities was organized for 20 people with disabilities;
- 12 families of unemployed people were relocated to a new place of residence and work.

The most in-demand professions among employers are: seamstress, car driver, salesperson, cook, repair fitter, building and structure maintenance and repair worker, electrician for repair and maintenance of electrical equipment, loader, cleaner. Among specialists and employees, there is a constant demand for engineers, nurses, doctors, security guards. In rural areas, tractors drivers, car drivers, milking machine operators, livestock breeders, veterinarians, and zootechnicians are in demand.
