Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: "Zero Injury" weeks will be held in organizations of the Vitebsk region

This order was signed by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

According to the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, over 4 months of 2021, 7 workers died at work and 21 received severe injuries. The overwhelming majority of fatalities resulting from workplace injuries are linked to the personal carelessness of the workers themselves and their violation of labor and production discipline. There are instances of violations of job descriptions and regulatory legal acts on labor protection that have led to severe consequences.

Holding "Zero Trauma" Weeks in organizations is an additional measure to the daily work on labor protection and one of the effective ways to control compliance with labor protection legislation.

The period for conducting "Zero Trauma" events has been determined for each region and is scheduled from June 7 to November 21.

The International Social Security Association (ISSA) has developed the Vision Zero Concept ("Zero Trauma" Concept).

The "Zero Trauma" Concept is based on the recognition that occupational accidents and professional diseases are not inevitable – they always have causes. In this regard, the development of an effective prevention culture allows them to be prevented.

The goal of the "Zero Trauma" Week is to organize measures to ensure the safety and health of workers in the workplace, to prevent cases of occupational injuries (preventing a single injury in organizations during this period) by promptly identifying violations of labor protection standards and applying measures to eliminate them.
