Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: "Zero Injury" weeks will be held in organizations of the Vitebsk region

For 2 months of the current year, 27 workers in the Vitebsk region have suffered workplace injuries. The overwhelming majority of workplace incidents are related to the personal carelessness of the workers themselves and their violation of labor and production discipline. There are cases of violations of job descriptions and regulatory legal acts on labor protection, which have led to severe consequences. Holding "Zero Injury" Weeks in organizations is an additional measure to daily labor protection work and one of the effective ways to monitor compliance with labor protection legislation. The period for holding "zero injury" events is determined for each district executive committee and structural unit of the regional executive committee. In 2022, holding the "Zero Injury Week" event in subordinate (constituent, system) organizations is planned at least twice a year.

The International Social Security Association (ISSA) has developed the Vision Zero Concept (the "Zero Injury" Concept).

The "Zero Injury" Concept is based on the recognition that workplace accidents and occupational diseases are not inevitable – they always have causes. Therefore, the development of an effective prevention culture allows them to be prevented.

The goal of "Zero Injury" Week is to organize measures to ensure the safety and health of workers in the workplace, to prevent cases of industrial injury (preventing a single injury incident in organizations during this period) by promptly identifying violations of labor protection standards and applying measures to eliminate them.
