Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: on acquiring practical work experience

In 2021, 26 unemployed individuals in the Vitebsk region were provided with an opportunity to gain practical work experience.

This service is intended to provide the unemployed with professional knowledge, skills, and practical work experience in accordance with their acquired profession (specialty), to enhance their competitiveness in the labor market, and to expand their employment opportunities.

Citizens employed under this service gained experience in various professions (specialties): lawyer, programmer technician, manicure and pedicure master, salesperson, seamstress, lumberjack, boiler operator, automated production systems engineer, and others.

Unemployed individuals registered with the employment service are directed to gain practical work experience in their acquired profession (specialty) from the following categories:

• graduates of educational institutions who have received vocational-technical, secondary specialized, and higher education;
• individuals who have undergone vocational training or retraining at the direction of the employment service;
• individuals who have been unemployed for a long time (more than 12 months) due to caring for a child under 3 years of age, a disabled child under 18 years of age, or a child under 18 years of age infected with the human immunodeficiency virus or suffering from AIDS.

The employment of unemployed individuals to gain practical work experience in their acquired profession (specialty) can be carried out in organizations regardless of their ownership, except for organizations whose activities are financed from budget funds, and with individual entrepreneurs.

IMPORTANT! Employers providing workplaces for the employment of unemployed individuals to gain practical work experience receive partial compensation from the employment service for their labor costs.
