Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection: on a meeting within the framework of the project "Building Effective Protection Mechanisms to Improve the Situation of Children with Life-Limiting Severe Diseases"

In the Committee for Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, within the framework of the international technical assistance project "Building Effective Protection Mechanisms to Improve the Situation of Children with Life-Limiting Severe Diseases," implemented since 2020, a "round table" was held with representatives of the Social and Charitable Institution "Center for Promoting the Normalization of Life of Socially Vulnerable Groups of the Population 'There is a Cause'" and the project partner – the charitable organization HelsProm (United Kingdom).

During the meeting, key issues were discussed:

• development of further cooperation and implementation of social projects aimed at the institutionalization and deinstitutionalization of children with disabilities;
• organization of work with children with severe and multiple disabilities.

Based on the results of the meeting:

• a care and rehabilitation model for each category of children with disabilities has been developed;
• a mechanism for additional employee training with the involvement of public organizations has been determined;
• the necessity of implementing effective practices in the field of care and rehabilitation of children with severe and multiple disabilities has been confirmed.

The implementation of the aforementioned tasks will contribute to the development of an algorithm for supporting children with disabilities.

The participants of the "round table" were acquainted with the work of the State Social Service Institution "Baugushevsky Boarding School for Children with Disabilities with Psychophysical Development Features."
