Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: training under the employment service – a chance to get a new profession and a new job

In order to enhance the competitiveness of citizens in the labor market, with the assistance of the labor, employment and social protection authorities of the Vitebsk region, 334 citizens were trained in January-August 2021.

The most in-demand professions for citizen training were electrician, forklift driver, plumber, cook, sales assistant, tractor driver, boiler operator. 60 people completed the training course "Business Planning Fundamentals", after which 41 of those trained received a subsidy to start their own business.

309 unemployed citizens were directed to training, including 213 unemployed citizens "on demand" from employers with guaranteed employment.

Almost 70 percent of the citizens directed to training were trained with guaranteed employment, including as sales assistants and cooks at OJSC "Vitebskmolprom", OJSC "Nika", OJSC "Vitmil", and as plumbers at SE "ZhRET of Vitebsk".

Training was organized for 3 citizens who are caring for a child under the age of 3.

In order to provide practical assistance to citizens in choosing a profession, changing their occupation, and improving their qualifications, taking into account their aptitudes, personal interests, and labor market needs, the labor, employment and social protection authorities provide career guidance services to citizens who apply. About a thousand students of general secondary education institutions were covered by various career guidance events.

Currently, groups are being formed for training in the professions: "automotive repair fitter", "electric gas welder", "sales assistant", "manicurist, pedicurist", "forklift driver", "painter, plasterer, tile layer".
