Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: about 3.7 thousand schoolchildren and students in the Vitebsk region have been employed since the beginning of the year
In their free time from studies and during the summer period, it is planned to employ at least 4 thousand teenagers and youth studying in colleges and universities in the northern region. From January to July, about 3.7 thousand people have already received temporary work with the help of the committee. "Children are engaged in repairing and assembling school furniture, improving and landscaping territories, and restoring library collections. They are also offered to produce sewing products, souvenirs, stands, and other items," the committee explained. "The main organizers of temporary employment in this case are the education departments of city and district executive committees and secondary vocational educational institutions."
Schoolchildren and students can also meet directly with employers and find temporary work. Information on available vacancies is published on the information portal of the state employment service. The list of organizations willing to work with youth is located in the "Temporary Employment" section. In the Vitebsk region alone, there are about 140 such enterprises and institutions. In August-September, they will provide over 1 thousand jobs. "Since the beginning of the year, about 900 people have been employed in organizations that hire young people. These are mainly forestry enterprises, agricultural organizations, public utilities, and children's health camps," the committee specified.
Among the types of work offered to the young labor force are weeding vegetables, planting forest crops, improving and cleaning territories, fieldwork, auxiliary work, repair and construction, and work at grain receiving points. According to the Committee for Labor, Employment, and Social Protection, on average, for two to four weeks of work in the summer, teenagers and students can earn from Br480 to Br600, depending on the hours worked.
