Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: The sowing campaign was carried out without industrial injuries

According to Alexander Khristoforov, Chairman of the Committee for Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, from March 28 to May 22, 2022, preventive measures were carried out at the facilities of the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region, aimed at preventing violations of labor protection rules and norms, and labor and production discipline by all entities involved in the preparation and conduct of spring field work.

Mobile groups, formed from specialists of executive committees, representatives of supervisory and control bodies, the center for hygiene, epidemiology, and public health, trade unions, the prosecutor's office, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Department of Internal Affairs, inspected 183 organizations and 403 agro-industrial complex facilities, and 929 workplaces, where 2135 violations of the requirements of current legislation in the field of occupational safety were identified.

Through the adoption of organizational and disciplinary measures, 45% of the violations were immediately eliminated, as they did not require material costs.

A number of violations were established regarding the organization of provision and the procedure for using personal protective equipment.

There were violations of the deadlines and procedures for conducting briefings and checking knowledge of labor protection, and admission to work with increased danger.

In some organizations, violations related to the organization of medical examinations and medical assessments were identified, as well as the absence (understaffing) of first-aid kits.

Typical violations were identified regarding the non-compliance with safety requirements of machines, mechanisms, equipment, agricultural machinery, gas welding equipment, improper maintenance of the organization's territory, operation of buildings and structures, and storage of material assets (materials, spare parts).

Based on the results of the mobile groups' work, the operation of 212 units of equipment was suspended, the production of 31 types of work was prohibited, and 296 workers were suspended from work.

As a result of the work of mobile groups, 107 pieces of information were sent to district executive committees and 33 materials were sent to prosecutor's offices for administrative and disciplinary action.

During the month dedicated to industrial accidents related to the preparation, repair and maintenance of agricultural machinery, as well as during the direct execution of spring field work in agricultural organizations of the Vitebsk region, no incidents were registered.
