Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: from April 25, the payment of material assistance to veterans for Victory Day begins

In accordance with Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 281 of July 21, 2021, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and persons affected by the consequences of the war receive annual financial assistance on Victory Day.

In 2022, financial assistance will be paid from April 25 to May 6 inclusive.

In the Vitebsk region, 2590 people will receive this assistance for a total amount of 2.1 million rubles.

Concurrently with receiving financial assistance, solemn celebrations for veterans of the Great Patriotic War, including those residing in stationary social service institutions, will be held in all districts of the region, with the presentation of commemorative postcards, gifts, flowers, and souvenirs.


Financial assistance will be paid this year in the following amounts.

Veterans of the Great Patriotic War:

1800 rubles

    • Disabled persons and participants of the Great Patriotic War, persons who took part in combat operations to defend the Fatherland before September 3, 1945.
    • Persons who participated as part of special units in the demining of territories and facilities after liberation from German occupation in 1943–1945.

1000 rubles

  • Persons awarded orders or medals of the USSR for selfless labor and impeccable military service in the rear during the Great Patriotic War.
  • Persons who worked at air defense facilities, local air defense, construction of defensive structures, naval bases, airfields, and other military facilities within the rear boundaries of active fronts, on front-line sections of railways and roads.
  • Persons who worked at enterprises, institutions, and organizations of the city of Leningrad during the blockade from September 8, 1941, to January 27, 1944, and were awarded the medal "For the Defense of Leningrad," and persons awarded the badge "Resident of Blockaded Leningrad."

to persons affected by the consequences of the war:

 750 rubles

  • to family members of military personnel, partisans, and underground fighters who died (passed away) or went missing during the Great Patriotic War (spouses who have not remarried; children who are disabled from childhood (including adopted children); other dependents) who have been granted a pension increase on the aforementioned grounds in accordance with the legislation
  • to former inmates of Nazi concentration camps, prisons, ghettos, and other places of forced detention established by the Nazis and their allies during World War II, who have been granted a pension increase on the aforementioned grounds in accordance with the legislation
  • to persons with disabilities from childhood due to injury, concussion, or mutilation related to combat operations during the Great Patriotic War or to the consequences of military operations

If eligible for financial assistance on multiple grounds, assistance will be provided on the ground that provides for the largest payment.

 Financial assistance payments are made at the place of pension receipt.
