Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: Revaccination of residents and staff has begun in social service institutions of the Vitebsk region
The first to be revaccinated were over 200 people from the State Institution "Maksimovsky Psychoneurological Boarding House for the Elderly and Disabled" and the State Institution "Territorial Center for Social Services of the Verkhnedvinsk District". 80 people have also been revaccinated at the State Social Service Institution "Lunacharsky Psychoneurological Boarding House for the Elderly and Disabled".
In total, in social service institutions of the Vitebsk region, there are over 15 thousand incapacitated citizens receiving social services at home, about 4 thousand attend day care centers for the elderly and disabled on a permanent basis, over 30 thousand elderly and disabled people receive one-time social and household services, and over 4 thousand people with disabilities live in boarding houses and residential care facilities.
Contact with each of our wards must be safe. Employees of the institutions understand the importance of this task: to prevent the penetration of coronavirus infection into inpatient institutions and to prevent the spread of infection among the incapacitated population.
Timely vaccination has been a good confirmation: there are no cases of illness among residents of inpatient social service institutions, mortality over 9 months has decreased by 5 percent compared to the same period last year, and life expectancy is 80 years. The institutions operate in full isolation mode.
