Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection: in the Vitebsk region, it is planned to master Br17.8 million for the repair of social service institutions within a year
"Work to strengthen the material and technical base of stationary social service institutions in the Vitebsk region is carried out constantly. In 2022, about Br4 million were directed to these purposes, and in the current year, Br17.8 million are planned to be allocated," the committee noted. "A large amount of work has been done at the Babinichi boarding house, where after capital repairs, the main residential buildings were put into operation last year. Works were carried out on the repair of interior premises, automation of the water supply system, power supply, fire-fighting reservoir, and landscaping of the courtyard. Modern technological and medical equipment and furniture were purchased. Capital repairs and modernization of the economic building of the boarding house have already been completed, the facility is ready for commissioning."
In several social service institutions, renovation continues this year. In particular, the Polotsk psychoneurological boarding house for the elderly and disabled is undergoing renovation of the canteen building with landscaping. The facility is included in the investment program of the Vitebsk region for 2023.
"In order to ensure fire safety and eliminate possible risks associated with loss of life, the construction of a new three-story brick building for 105 places has begun at the Alexandrovsky boarding house. Work is underway to modernize the automatic fire alarm system in four institutions - these are the Vitebsk, Voronovsky, Selyutsky, and Maksimovsky boarding houses," the committee added.
A total of 15 boarding houses operate in the Vitebsk region.
