Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection: In the Vitebsk region, more than 3.5 thousand students have been involved in temporary employment

In the Vitebsk region, more than 3.5 thousand students have been involved in temporary employment in their free time from studies within the framework of organizing secondary employment at the expense of the state budget of the social protection fund of the population of the Republic of Belarus. Almost 88% of those employed are students of general secondary education institutions.

Priority is given to young people from single-parent, large, low-income families, and minors registered with commissions and inspectorates for juvenile affairs for temporary employment.

Educational institutions of the departments for education of district executive committees, secondary vocational educational institutions, territorial centers for social services for the population, and boarding schools in the region act as organizers of temporary employment at the expense of the fund.

Within the framework of temporary employment, young people performed work on the improvement and landscaping of school grounds, repair of school furniture and classrooms, restoration of library collections, production of sewing products, souvenirs, stands, etc.

In total, within the framework of the State Program "Labor Market and Employment Promotion for 2021-2025", in 2021, 1240 thousand rubles were allocated in the Vitebsk region from the state budget of the social protection fund of the population of the Republic of Belarus for the organization of temporary employment for students during the summer period and in their free time from studies, for the employment of at least 4000 schoolchildren (students).

In addition, an opportunity for individual employment of young people in organizations of the Vitebsk region has been organized (at the expense of the employers' own funds). In January-July 2021, 896 young citizens were employed at the expense of employers' funds.

Information on the number of organizations in the Vitebsk region ready to hire students is posted on the Internet resource of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus – Information

on the employment service portal (Internet address: www.gsz.gov.by) in the section "Employment Service. Services", as well as on the websites of district executive committees, in social networks Instagram, "VKontakte", mass media, on information stands of departments for labor, employment and social protection of district executive committees of the region.

The list of organizations is updated weekly.

The main types of work offered by organizations include landscaping and cleaning of territories, field, auxiliary, repair and construction work, and trade.

Temporary employment of youth is organized with the aim of involving youth in socially useful labor and acquiring work skills, adapting to work activities and preparing for independent entry into the labor market, improving material well-being.

Temporary employment of youth is organized for citizens aged 14 to 31 years by promoting employment in vacant positions (vacancies) of employers by labor, employment and social protection bodies.

Employers conclude fixed-term employment contracts with young citizens referred by labor, employment and social protection bodies for temporary employment. Thus, the norms of the Labor Code of the Republic of Belarus and labor protection legislation apply to them.

Remuneration for youth working in their free time from studies is paid in proportion to the time worked or depending on the volume of work performed in accordance with the forms and remuneration systems in force with the organizers.
