Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection: In the Vitebsk region, the registered unemployment rate has decreased compared to last year
The registered unemployment rate as of November 1, 2022, was 0.2 percent, a decrease of 0.1 percentage point compared to the rate on November 1, 2021.
In January – October 2022, 18051 people applied to the employment service for employment assistance (2.4 percent more than in January – October 2021), of whom 7346 people were registered as unemployed (8.4 percent less).
Within the framework of the State Program "Labor Market and Employment Promotion" for 2021 – 2025, in January – October 2022:
- 14393 people were employed on a permanent basis;
- 376 people were sent for training in professions in demand on the labor market;
- 91 unemployed persons received a subsidy to start their own business;
- 2942 people participated in paid public works;
- temporary employment was provided to 4437 students during their free time;
- 21 unemployed persons were employed to gain practical work experience;
- adaptation to work activities was organized for 45 disabled persons;
- 23 families of unemployed persons were relocated to a new place of residence and work.
The employment rate of citizens who applied for assistance was 73.7 percent, which is 2.7 percentage points higher than the rate in January – October 2021.
As of November 1, 2022, employers reported 11012 vacancies, which is 18.3 percent more than on November 1, 2021 (9308).
The most in-demand professions among employers are: seamstress, car driver, sales assistant, cook, conductor, repair fitter, electrical fitter for repair and maintenance of electrical equipment, building and structure maintenance and repair worker, loader, cleaner.
